Barbara ,
Just wanted to say what a fantastic time we had filming at the Rainforest Aerial Tram in St. Lucia. Your staff were incredibly helpful and wonderfully courteous. It was a delight to film with them. And such a wonderful location. My whole crew enjoyed being gently wafted through the rainforest on the Gondolas. And what a great place to get shots of the rainforest.
I will send you a dvd in due course. Please say hello to everyone.
Cheers,
P. Olding

St. Lucia Press Release

Since March 2006, the rainforest aerial tram in St. Lucia offers
the best land based tour in the island’s lush rainforest canopy.
It is located in Chassin, Babonneau, the island’s first rainforest
area protected by St. Lucian law.

Rainforest Sky Rides, the island’s newest tourism attraction gives visitors a memorable thrill with a rare opportunity to view the
rainforest from the ground all the way up to the tree tops.

Rainforest Sky Rides brought to St. Lucia the exciting innovations regarding the design of the rainforest aerial tram (a modified ski-lift)
to provide visitors with an intimate and unique interaction with the rainforest canopy. 24 gondolas designed for 8 passengers and one English speaking naturalist guide silently glide above the Chassin rainforest in Babonneau. The tour gives visitors a bird’s eye view of
the flora and fauna in one of the most breathtaking observation opportunities of a rainforest.

Rainforest Sky Rides, a subsidiary of Rainforest Aerial Trams
shares the mission of three other aerial trams located in
Costa Rica and the Island of Dominica. Since 1994, the Company
offers unobtrusive visits and eco-tours in the rainforest with little disturbance to the natural environment. St. Lucia is the fourth
destination in a venture which includes the Atlantic and Pacific
Aerial Trams of Costa Rica and Dominica’s Rain Forest Aerial
Tram which is set in a rare oceanicisland cloud forest.

The Rainforest Sky Rides Park features new facilities including the Hummingbird Café, the Amazona Gift Shop, spacious restrooms,
and a convenient parking lot. It also provides wheelchair access
ramps to the tram and to all other areas of the Park. On-site Medical assistance is available at all times.

Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Ms. Herena Cao
who is spearheading the local operations says the management
of the Park is forever cognizant of the high standards and
responsibility the company upholds concerning safety,
conservation of the rainforest and the environment as well as
outreach programs for the community where the park is located.

“Our number one priority is safety” she explains adding, “We continuously check the machinery with experts traveling from
Canada and the United States to ensure that the tram is
operating safely at all times. This is what we do in addition to
daily inspections that gondolas, machines and equipment are
in top shape. Our company is totally committed to the safety of
our visitors and after 12 years in operation we have never had
one single accident. We value this above all and intend to keep
that record of safety.”

The tours offered by Rainforest Sky Rides are designed for
visitors of all ages from the very young to senior citizens. Persons
with disabilities can also access the aerial tram gondolas and all
other Park facilities.

The conservation and protection of the rainforest environment and
its natural habitat are key issues for the Rain Forest Sky Rides.
Ms. Cao said the company is committed to being inconspicuous
with minimal disturbance to the natural environment. “That is why
we have no intention of stomping into the rainforest and disturbing
or destroying anything. In fact all of the towers were lifted by
helicopter into the forest where a small team of technicians
completed the installation and the work. These experts worked
in the rainforest without using heavy equipment to minimize any
damage to the environment.”

Ms. Cao also said that this kind of concern for the environment is reflected in the tram and the gondolas which operate smoothly and quietly causing no noise or pollution.

The company also follows the guidelines of the Green Globe 21
Charter which includes proper separation, disposal, recycling as
well as minimal generation of waste and its by-products. Water
saving faucets and toilets were installed in the venue to enhance
these guidelines and the conservation efforts shared with the
other existing rainforest aerial trams.

The Green Globe 21 Charter is based on the principles of
sustainable development endorsed by the 182 Heads of State
at the United Nations, during the Rio de Janeiro Earth Summit in
1992. This benchmarking Programme provides companies, communities and consumers with a list of measures for attaining environmentally sustainable travel and tourism.

As for the community of Babonneau, Rainforest Sky Rides is
ensuring that it is considered the best corporate neighbor. The
majority of its employees are from the area. The Park’s naturalist
guides and tour guides were trained by the Company. Other
St Lucians are currently employed as administrative personnel, customer service representatives, as well as grounds and
maintenance personnel. The community football field, the only
large flat site in the area where the aerial tram towers were
mounted, is being rehabilitated for the community with a new
surface, drainage, etc. The Company has in mind other
improvements in the future to benefit the local community.
